“Sandwich Utopia” is coming to Waverly Place this fall. Eastcut is owned by two friends who grew up in New Jersey and the Bronx, and their menu features cheesesteaks, chicken cutlet sandwiches, and deli classics as well as burgers, wings, and a selection of egg sandwiches served for breakfast. Their Waverly location will have between 60 and 70 seats indoors as well as an outdoor patio.

The former Office Depot space in Crossroads Plaza will soon be home to Savers, a “thrift superstore” based in Washington. Savers is a for-profit, global reuse entity that accepts donations of secondhand clothing and household goods and contributes funds to the American Red Cross.

Flat Iron — Proposed

Site plans are in review for a mixed-use project on two acres next to the Chatham Street roundabout. The land is currently an unpaved parking area and there is a small warehouse. Flat Iron will be a seven-story building with 213 apartments, 5,659 square feet of restaurant and retail space, and an eight-level parking deck with 312 parking spaces. Apartment layouts will include 16 studios, 110 one-bedroom units, 71 two-bedroom units, 15 three-bedroom units, and one “hotel” unit. Three units will be two-story townhomes. Amenities will include a swimming pool, courtyard, rooftop and community gathering spaces, a fitness center, club room, and coworking space. The restaurant and retail businesses will face Old Apex Road and customers can enjoy outdoor patio space.
